Back to Basics

Living healthily in this day and age is no easy task. I have spent years trying to figure it out, and I am still learning so much. Part of the reason I think it is so difficult is because of the conflicting and confusing information out there. Often I go to a website and find myself lost because they are talking in acronyms and throwing words and phrases around that I have never even heard of before like I should know them already, with no information on how to find out what they are. Sometimes the terms are obscure enough that even our trust friend Google has a hard time kicking out anything useful.

So to hopefully remedy that situation, I will be starting my Back to Basics series of posts;
A How To on the Basics of Living a Happy, Healthy Gluten Free life.

The purpose of this series will be twofold; it is said that while we teach, we learn, and I have found this to be very true in my life. I still have a lot to learn, and I hope that you will join me on this learning journey! It will also help me organize - the jumble of books, bookmarks and articles I have right now are not exactly accessible, and I hope to fix that by doing this.

Here is what I will be posting about;

Back to Basics; Acronyms - A list of Acronyms and their explanations that the healthy eating community often uses.
Back to Basics; Ingredients - Which ones to avoid and which ones to go after, where to get them and how to get the most out of them.
Back to Basics; Recipes - Staples that you will want in your kitchen like Mayonnaise, Pate, and Oat Cakes.
Back to Basics; Kitchen Makeover - The Tools you will need to make healthy and gluten free food.
Back to Basics; Living on a Budget - Healthy eating without the cost.
Back to Basics; Greed Alert - Rip offs and scams to look out for when you are new to taking charge of your own health.

This post will be updated with new links as I post them.
